8.30 am – 5.30 pm.
Halls Gap Centennial Hall.
This is in the
main street of Halls Gap next to the Visitor Information Centre.
They will be selling a range of fabrics, fibres, books, kimonos,
buttons and much more to tempt the textile artist.
Some of the
traders will include:
Beautiful silks -
will have for sale natural based fabrics, yarns and fibres – silk,
cotton, linen and wool - also stock dyes. They will be
demonstrating throughout the week, and are happy to bring your order
to theGrampians.www.beautifulsilks.com
and accept mail orders and all credit cards.
Fibreworks whose
specialty is hand dyed fibres and yarns for textile artists.
Their specialty is in natural products including wool, mohair, silk,
cashmere and alpaca. The range of 20 colours reflects the landscape,
flowers and bird life of Australia. They will have all of the fibres
for felting classes.
Old
Rosemount Quilts – selling patchwork fabrics, ribbons and
kits. The fabrics are bright, contemporary and a little different.
The
Button Lady – with vintage and hand made buttons made from
bakelite, glass, horn, bone, shell, wood and metal. Threads
including Irish Linen and Mop Cotton, Sequinned and Beaded Motifs,
Vintage Swiss and French laces, leather and fur pieces and all sorts
of haberdashery surprises.
Artisan
Books (Sat, Sun Mon) selling beautiful art and craft books,
TAFTA
Books – (trading Tue, Wed, Thur only) visit TAFTA bookshop!
The Australian Forum for Textile Artist is bringing a great
selection of Textile titles to the Grampians.
Spiral
Dyed and Raes Rags supply a dyed rainbow of products for all
your fibre art needs. Merino, silk, fabrics, threads and other more
exotic goodies such as feathers and paper are available. In addition
they supply paints, printing blocks, beads, shivas and a few more
hard to find products.
Tombo
(trading Sat, Sun, Mon) selling Kimonos at $15 and $35 each,
lots of Japanese silks, cream and coloured, Japanese silk obi at $20
and natural and dyed hemp from Japan and China

Students and tutors selling their
interesting and exotic art and crafts– over 25 stalls. This should
be a busy evening as the market is being advertised extensively as
well as locally.
The market will be in the
marquee next to Halls Gap Centennial Hall. Grampians Estate
Winery from Great Western will have a lovely selection of wines for
sale.
Sunday February 21

Students from all the weekend
classes will bring their work in to the central area to be viewed.

Birds of a Feather-Wartook Artist
Studio, Wartook.
An exhibition
of work including textiles and other mediums, by local artists. Open
daily (except Monday) 10 am—5 pm. 20 Feb—14 March.
Cara Mia—Kookaburra Restaurant,
Halls Gap.
Work by Val
Robinson form Mildura. This exhibition combines textiles, found
objects and painting exploring themes about pioneer women's’ stories
from the Sunraysia.
